Refunds

Group classes and group programs do not permit refunds or credits unless cancellation is related to insufficient participation or teacher sickness.

Student Absences

Please let us know in advance if your child must miss a class.  Please call the office and leave a message if no one is available to take your call.  Please let us know your name, child’s name and enrolled class.

Student Make-Up Policy

We are unable to provide student make-ups for missed group classes.  In some situations, depending on the nature of the class, we may be able to schedule a private “catch-up” lesson at the current 30 minute private lesson rate.  This can be useful if a child has fallen behind the class.

Student Sickness

Students may not attend class if they are running a fever or showing other signs of contagion.  This helps us keep teachers healthy, curbs spread of germs, and reduces the likelihood of cancelling classes due to teacher sickness.

You may find these Sick Child Guidelines, although written in the context of early childhood sickness, helpful in determining if your child is ready to return to class following sickness.

Teacher Sickness

Any teacher absences will be made up.  Make-ups are usually scheduled on the same day and at the same time at end of session or will be offered remotely (as appropriate to the class).

Bad Weather

One bad weather cancellation for a group class will be made up.  Additional bad weather cancellations cannot be made up although we will attempt to convene a class remotely if appropriate to the subject matter.

Please note that we do not automatically cancel class when public schools cancel.  We make cancellation decisions taking into consideration road and parking conditions anticipated during a span of hours that tie to scheduled classes, also teacher arrival and departure.

Visit our Weather Page for full information and for updates when bad weather is anticipated.

Teacher Make-Ups

In addition to the option of scheduling a teacher make-up at end of session, following the final class, some teachers may request a make-up during February or April vacation week.  Vacation week make-up decisions will be made in consultation with class members.
