Parents as Partners on Line
Now through October
This video series, offered by the Suzuki Association of the Americas, began on Jan 25th.
Sign up and have 24/7 access to inspiring and informative videos covering a wide range of topics. Watch as many or as few as you want – it only costs $12! The videos will be up until October. I highly recommend this for both parents and teachers.
Registration is done as a group through the account of a Suzuki Association member (Amy Matherly). If you are interested let me know and then pay the $12 registration fee directly to me. If paying with cash, please put it in an envelope labeled with your name. Checks should be made out to Amy Matherly.
Pakachoag Suzuki Program Group Class Concert
Monday, March 6th beginning at 6:30 in the Great Hall
Groups are now preparing for this exciting annual event, where all of our Suzuki groups showcase what they have been working on and then come together to play ‘Song From Sweden’ – a beautiful grand finale.
We hope that everyone can participate! Please mark your calendars. Your child’s group class teacher will let you know which pieces the group will be performing. Everyone should be practicing Song From Sweden. Your teacher will get you started at your lesson. To see a video of an earlier performance go here: www.pakmusic.org/programs/suzuki-instructions/
Dress: Black dress pants or skirts & shoes, and white shirt or blouse. A colorful accessory is encouraged.
A rehearsal for this performance will be held on Friday, March 3rd in the Great Hall.
You do not need to be present for the whole time – only for the time listed for your child’s group and at 5:45 to rehearse Song From Sweden.
Here is the rehearsal schedule:

Music Reading Class for Parents
Monday, April 3rd in Auburn
This class will introduce you to some of the basic music reading concepts that you will need to decipher the music in the first half of Suzuki Volume One. Although your child will be learning the pieces after Twinkle by ear, it will be a big help for you to be able to follow along in the music book.
The class will only meet once – it will get you started rather than teach you everything you need to know and is open to any Suzuki program parent.
Sign up in advance by contacting Amy Matherly.
Bring a violin (any size), Suzuki Volume One and a pencil.
If you have any questions or comments free to contact me.
