Music Together - Mixed Age: Birth through Four Years
This is the essential Music Together class, one that a child can attend from birth through age four through all nine song collections. This basic class follows the recommendations of child development researchers—grouping children of a variety of ages because this fosters natural, family-style learning. Younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones; and adults are happy because the children in the family can go to class together.
Each child participates at his or her own level in singing, moving, chanting, listening, watching, or exploring musical instruments. Any caregiver—parent, grandparent, nanny—can bring the children. The whole family is welcome for this important family music experience. Details
Music Together for Special Learners - Ages 2 to 8 Years
Music Together for Special Learners is an integrated class for children with and without special needs that accomodates children who have developmental delays by extending the upper age limit. It also accomodates children who want to continue the Music Together experience beyond the age of five. Details
Suzuki Violin; Suzuki Guitar
Ages 4 +
The Suzuki method is tailored to a young child’s development and attention level, and combines one-on-one instruction with the benefit of a group lesson. For young children, we'll ask for a brief readiness assessment. For some children, we will recommend a semester or more of Music Together prior to enrolling in Suzuki lessons. Please go to the Suzuki Program page for more information.
Musical Adventures
Ages 5 to 7
Musical Adventures is an ideal segue for children moving out of the Music Together program but not yet ready or interested in private lessons. Details
Beyond Music Together?
Have you completed all 9 song collections before the age of five?
Music Together recommends that you continue to enroll your child. Because of the rapid shifts taking place in a young child’s development (physical and cognitive), a child at the age of three or four will experience (and learn) a song collection the second time around (two or three years later) much differently than, say, a child at the age of one.
* Child must be no younger than the specified age range as of the first day of the first month during which the class begins each semester or session.
