In addition to the ensemble opportunities listed below, trios and quartets are often offered by string teachers in collaboration with woodwind and piano teachers. While many of these small ensembles include students taking private lessons who are matched according to ability level, you do not have to take lessons at Pakachoag in order to participate. Please call the Director for more information.

The Unison of Strings with Amy Matherly - Adults and High School

  • The Unison is a great way to enjoy ensemble playing and work with a collaborative/congenial group of violinists (both high school aged and adult students) without needing to make a significant scheduling commitment.
  • Includes two montly group rehearsals, usually on the first and third Friday of each month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
  • The Unison generally performs at least once each semester. This includes a performance at a school recital and sometimes an additional outreach, off-site performance.
  • In past years, the Unison has been featured in concerts at the Worcester Art Museum, the Hanover Theatre, the Fitchburg Public Library Performing Arts Series, Mechanics Hall (in collaboration with the Worcester Youth Symphony) and with First Night Worcester.

This semester we will perform at the Pakachoag winter recital on Saturday,
Dec. 10th, 2011 and at First Night Worcester on December 30th.

Unison will meet on the first and 3rd Friday of each month from 6:30-7:30
